Overview for Triticum aestivum (Bread wheat)

Triticum aestivum (bread wheat) is one of the most important cereals for human nutrition. Its hexaploid genome (~17 Gb) is the result of a series of natural hybridization events of three closely related taxa. The first hybridization event between Triticum urartu (donor of the A genome) and an unknown grass probably related to Aegilops speltoides (donor of the B genome) resulted in the emergence of the progenitor genome, which then hybridized with Aegilops tauschii (the donor of the D genome) and gave rise to wheat. In agReg-SNPdb, we store 107,889 genes and 18,093,867 SNPs.

Distribution of rSNPs relative to the TSS

SNP distance to TSS wheat
Distribution of SNPs around the TSS of bread wheat. The upper plot shows the counts for the whole promoter region (-7.5 kb to +2.5 kb) in 500 bp intervals. The enlargement shows the proximal promoter region (-750 bp to +250 bp) in 50 bp intervals. The red asterisk annotates the position of the TSS.
